Our Love Story

How it all started

Samson's perspective

It all started with a simple DM on Instagram. Neither of us knew it then, but that small message would change everything. The conversation flowed so naturally, as if we’d known each other for much longer.

Soon enough, we decided to meet in person, and our very first date took place at Boom Battle Bar at the O2 in North Greenwich. Between the games, laughter and a touch of nerves, something just clicked. From that day, our connection only grew stronger.

We kept talking, learning more about each other, and with every conversation, I became more certain that she was the one. The next big step was introducing her to my parents a moment that felt both exciting and significant. Watching how naturally she fit into my world only made me fall for her more.

Time moved forward and with it, so did our love. On the 10th of August, at the romantic Clos Maggiore, I asked her the question I had been holding close to my heart. The proposal was everything I had hoped it would be, filled with love, emotion and the promise of forever.

And that’s how our story began, with a message, a date and the decision to spend forever side by side.

Victoria's perspective

It all started in the DMs. Out of nowhere in 2023, this guy slid into my Instagram DM with the line: “Hi there, I could bet I’ve seen you a couple of times tho. Anyways, you look unreal.”

Now, normally I never reply to random DMs because… trust me, it gets overwhelming. But something made me pause, I checked his profile and realized we both went to Babcock University. So I thought, “Hmm, maybe he’s one of those familiar faces in uni?”

Well, turns out that “I could bet I’ve seen you a couple of times” was just a pick-up line! I still rank it as one of the weakest I’ve ever heard🤣. But somehow, it worked.

When I realised he actually had no clue who I was, I gave slow responses. He eventually got tired of my slow replies and asked, “So what app do you actually chat on?” I, trying to discourage him, said “Snapchat.” But instead of backing off, he immediately asked for my handle! Next thing I knew, we were chatting away daily on Snap, then moving on to real conversations and phone calls.

Our first date was at Boom Battle Bar in Greenwich. We played games, competed and got to know each other better. Afterward, I suggested we took a walk by the water. That’s when he casually dropped the bomb: “By the way, I’m aqua phobic.” 🤣 Till today, it’s one of our funniest memories. Whenever I remind him that he showed up late to our first date which was a totally valid reason for me to have canceled, he fires back that he had every reason to end the date because I “dragged” him to the water side despite his phobia!🤣

At first, I thought we’d just be good friends, but somewhere between the laughter, late night calls, and persistent Snap messages, the spark turned into something real.

By late 2023, he finally shot his shot again, this time officially asking me to be his girlfriend. And by then, I was already feeling the boy🤭,

Now here we are, fast-forwarding from one weak pick-up line in my DMs to saying I do.
